This Strawberry Poppyseed Pasta Salad is so easy to make, and full of amazing fruity and savory flavor. Makes the perfect side dish, for any occasion.
We celebrated my son’s second birthday last week by having the whole family over for a barbecue. I told my husband I was going to make a pasta salad with fruit in it and he thought it sounded pretty terrible.
After he tried a few bites of this pasta salad, he was whistling a different tune.
This Strawberry Poppyseed Pasta salad is the perfect combination of sweet and savory. It is so easy to make and full of amazing flavor.
It only takes a few minutes to throw together and is great for potlucks, a light lunch, side dish, bbq’s, a snack, or really just any time. We love this salad, more than our regular pasta salad, which is really saying something.
sneak in some vegetables:
I love salads like these, because it is so easy to sneak in a few other vegetables without my kids noticing.
For this recipe, the salad dressing kind of seeps into everything, so you can’t really taste any of the veggies, but you do get the crunch that it gives.
I highly recommend trying it out. Here are a few vegetables that we like to add in:
- cucumbers
- bell peppers
- zucchini
- carrot shreds
- broccoli bits (finely chopped broccoli. I don’t add a lot, but I do love the taste of it, in this salad).

how far in advance can i make this salad?
The thing I love about this salad, is that it gets better with time. It is so easy to make, and has the best flavor to it.
You can easily make it 24-30 hours in advance, and it would still taste delicious. We don’t really recommend making it more than 24 hours in advance, for the best serving.
It is best when it sits overnight or all day, and served that evening.
It will still be good for about three days after, if you have leftovers, but we recommend serving within 24 hours.

Love this recipe! So simple to make and a real crowd pleaser. I have made it every weekend for pool parties over the last 3 weeks and it disappears quickly everytime. The only thing I did differently was cut out the onion (personal preference) and added chopped green pepper instead.

Great recipe…every time I’ve made it, everyone loves it! I actually prefer to use fresh fruit if it’s in season rather than anything canned (my favourite is peaches/nectarines, strawberries, and blueberries), and I also add cucumbers and bocconcini pearls…so yummy!
